EnABLE's knowledge and capacity building programming activities were initiated in FY22 and completed in FY23, focused on supporting the Lao government to enhance knowledge, regulations, procedures, and capacity in land regularization, land use management, and carbon trading to improve the inclusion of recipients the carbon and noncarbon benefits of the emission reductions program (ERP).  

The EnABLE country programming in Lao PDR is intended to enhance inclusion of non-Lao-Tai women and girls in northern forest-dependent villages within the ERP jurisdiction, along with ethnic minority groups in remote and economically disadvantaged areas of selected ERP provinces. The programming also aims to support other vulnerable community members, including youth who may be integrated into alternative livelihood activities in collaboration with farmer groups, cooperatives, women’s enterprise groups, and forest management collectives. The implementing agency for EnABLE country programming is the Regional Community Forestry Training Center (RECOFTC).
