Country Programming Details
EnABLE's knowledge and capacity building activities, which were initiated in FY22 and completed in FY24, focused on supporting the inclusion of Indigenous Peoples (IPs) and traditional local communities by promoting engagement with constituencies—particularly women's groups and more marginalized communities—through networking events and by establishing a national IP consultative forum to provide guidance on the design of EnABLE country programming.
The EnABLE country programming in Nepal is intended to support increased engagement in the emission reductions program by marginalized groups in the two most-disadvantaged regions of the Teri Arc Landscape, including IPs, Dalits, Madheshi Muslims, and women involved in community-based forest management. The Kathmandu-based regional nongovernmental organization, the Asia Network for Sustainable Agriculture and Bioresources (ANSAB) was selected as the implementing agency based on year-long consultations with Indigenous and local organizations and groups. ANSAB will collaborate with six other organizations in the development of activities.
