This panel discussion, sponsored by the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCPF), will explore the future of efforts to reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation, or REDD+, including financial structures and technical requirements.

Panelists will explore the visions and implications of the future REDD+ for programming and financing in various countries. The event provides an opportunity for donors and development partners to gain perspectives from stakeholders, including representatives from governments, the private sector, and Indigenous communities. These insights will inform future strategies, frameworks, and actions for raising ambitions for emission reductions in REDD+ initiatives. The discussion will also touch upon advancements in voluntary carbon markets, developments in Article 6 negotiations, and the outcomes of COP28.
