REDD+ MRV webinars draw nearly 600 attendees from 90 countries

FCPF and GOFC-GOLD, in collaboration with number of partner agencies, recently wrapped up a series of seven webinars, which ran from April - June 2017. The sessions focused on the latest tools and methodologies for REDD+ measurement, reporting and verification (MRV), in the themes of monitoring forest area and area changes, and the associated carbon stocks and changes.

A total of 576 individuals (34% female and 66% male) participated in the webinar series with an average of 183 attendees per session. Participants came from 90 countries, including 37 of the 47 FCPF countries. Based on a survey done immediately after the sessions, participants highlighted that the webinars were easy to understand and relevant for their work. Looking ahead, 92% of them responded that they would like to build on what was demonstrated in the webinars in their future forest and climate change efforts.
